Jeff ( Joel McHale), Annie (Alison Brie), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown), Troy ( Donald Glover), Abed (Danny Pudi), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), and Pierce (Chevy Chase) were participators, as were the rest of the students. Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) organized the event as a way for students to let off some steam as they were allowed to run around with paintball guns. The tournament, known as Paintball Assassin, was an annual campus-wide competition held toward the end of the school year at Greendale Community College.
It was a thrilling way to push aside normal campus life and throw the study group into a suspenseful situation. Due to the reception of the first episode to feature a game of paintball, creator Dan Harmon and the rest of the writers decided to keep the concept going.
Some of the most memorable episodes of Community were the show's action-packed paintball episodes.
